ITA Atlantic Regional – Singles Main Draw | ITA Atlantic Regional – Doubles Main Draw

NORFOLK, Va. – Several members of the Virginia women’s tennis team advanced in play at the ITA Atlantic Regional on Saturday with five singles players advancing to the round of 16 and one doubles team advancing to the quarterfinals.

The event is being played at the Folkes-Stevens Tennis Center at Old Dominion.

The winners of the singles and doubles brackets at the ITA Atlantic Regional earn automatic berths in the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate played at the Billie Jean King Tennis Center in Flushing, N.Y. in November.

The doubles pairing of Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Cassie Mercer (Huntington, W.V.) advanced to Sunday’s quarterfinals with two wins on Saturday. The duo will play at 9 a.m. on Sunday for a chance to advance to the semifinals.

In singles play, Mercer advanced to the round of 16 which will also be played on Sunday. She was joined with singles wins from Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas), Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine), Rosie Johanson (Abottsford, British Columbia) and Teodora Radosavljevic (Belgrade, Serbia). With the wins, the Cavaliers have five of the 16 players still alive in the main draw.

Singles play begins at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday.
