CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia volleyball team (4-18, 1-9 ACC) is on the road at Georgia Tech on Friday (Oct. 28) at 7 p.m. at O’Keefe Gymnasium and Clemson on Saturday (Oct. 29) at 6 p.m. at Jervey Gym in Atlantic Coast Conference play.

Virginia meets Georgia Tech and Clemson for the second time this month The Cavaliers split with the two teams, defeating the Tigers 3-0 but falling to Georgia Tech 3-0 at home.
The Cavaliers are coming off losses to No. 12 Florida State and Miami. Seniors Jasmine Burton (West Hills, Calif.) and Haley Kole (Tallahassee, Fla.) led UVA in both matches and totaled 20 kills each over the two matches.
Kole ranks ninth in the conference in kills, averaging 3.24 per set, and has moved into 10th all-time with 1,294 career kills. Jasmine Burton is now just 19 kills away from joining the 1,000 kill club.
Georgia Tech (18-5, 9-2 ACC) has won eight-straight contests, most recently defeating Clemson, 3-0 on Wednesday. The Yellow Jackets rank second in the league in kills (13.74 per set), opponent hitting percentage (.168) and digs (16.62 per set). Teegan Van Gunst leads the team, and is second in the conference, with 4.27 kills per set. Defensively, London Ackermann is third in the ACC with 4.82 digs per set.
In the first meeting this season on Oct. 7, Georgia Tech won 3-0 with two of three sets decided by four points or less. Virginia played well at the net with 13.0 blocks, led by freshman Chino Anukwuem (East Hanover, N.J.) with six. The Yellow Jackets lead the overall series 34-21.
Clemson (8-14, 2-8 ACC) is coming off a 3-0 loss at Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The Tigers are averaging 11.01 kills per set, 11.90 digs per set and 2.03 blocks per set. Leah Perri leads the offense, and ranks sixth in the ACC, with 3.58 kills per set. Two players are averaging over 3.00 digs per set and Jaden Light leads with 1.07 blocks per set.
Virginia snapped its losing streak with a 3-0 win over Clemson on Oct. 8. The Cavaliers were solid all-around with a .375 hitting percentage, nine service aces and five blocks. Burton led the team with 12 kills, four aces and three blocks. UVA trails the Tigers 40-20 in the all-time series.
UVA is back at home next weekend when it hosts Syracuse on Friday, Nov. 4 and Boston College on Sunday, Nov. 6.
