Freshman Jack Mueller set the tone early for the Cavaliers in the opening weekend of competition as he was one of four wrestlers to claim a title at the Clarion Open on Sunday. Mueller won at 125 pounds and was the first to secure a title. Of the 21 wrestlers competing in the event, 14 placed on Sunday. In addition to Mueller, redshirt freshman Sam Krivus (149), redshirt sophomore Chance McClure (197) and redshirt junior Andrew Atkinson (157) also claimed titles in their weight class. The helmet in the photo is the trophy presented by Clarion for winning a weight class.
Former #UVAFB standout and current Washington Redskins RT Morgan Moses had his No. 77 jersey retired by his high school alma mater, Meadowbrook High in North Chesterfield, Va. Moses was on hand for the halftime ceremony
