On Thursday night, the members of the #UVAWBB coaching staff kicked off their heels and worked the sideline in their bare feet in solidarity with the Clemson women’s basketball coaching staff who were raising awareness for Samaritan’s Feet, a charity that donates shoes to needy youth in the US and across the globe.

Former #UVABase standouts were all over the MLB transactions report this week, in a good way. Outfielder Brandon Guyer signed a new two-year contract with the Cleveland Indians. Guyer played at UVA from 2005-07 and was traded to the Indians on Aug. 1, 2016, as part of the Tribe’s run to the World Series.

Outfielder Derek Fisher has been invited to big league training camp by the Astros, his first time participating in Spring Training with the Major League players. Fisher batted .245/.373/.448 in 102 games with at Double-A Corpus Christi before earning a promotion to Triple-A Fresno, where he hit .290/.347/.505 with five homers, 17 RBIs and five stolen bases in 27 games in August and September. Overall, the outfielder posted a .255/.367/.448 line with 21 long balls, 76 RBIs and 28 stolen bases while drawing 83 walks.
