CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.-The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field teams travel to Boston for a pair of meets Friday and Saturday (Feb. 3-4).

The Cavaliers are set to compete at the Crimson Elite Meet at the Gordon Indoor Track on Friday with action beginning at 2 p.m. UVA will also participate in the Scarlett & White meet at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center, the men’s distance medley relay will run at 8:15 p.m. Friday, while the rest of the team will be in action on Saturday starting at 11 a.m.

Live results for both meets will be available at VirginiaSports.com. Live video of the Crimson Elite Meet will be available via a subscription on the Ivy League Digital Network, while live video of the Scarlett & White meet will be available via a FloPro subscription.

The Cavalier men are ranked No. 12 in the latest USTFCCCA national rankings and tied for fifth in the FloTrack national rankings.

Redshirt junior Filip Mihaljevic (Livno, Bosnia and Herzegovina) was named to the Bowerman Award Men’s February Watch List on Thursday (Feb. 2). He was also named the ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week for his efforts at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational Jan. 28 in Lynchburg, Va. He finished second in the shot put with a throw of 19.47m (63′ 10.5″), which ranks fourth in the nation and first in the ACC.

Redshirt freshman Sam Young (Lewes, Del.) broke the Virginia freshman record in the men’s pole vault when he cleared 5.00m (16′ 4.75″). He is the fifth Cavalier in program history to clear five meters.

In the women’s 800 meters, senior Micah Brickhill (Buckingham, Va.) finished first in a meet-record time of 2:14.03.

Next up, the Cavaliers will travel to Lynchburg, Va., for the Liberty Elite Invitational Feb. 10-11. In addition, senior Henry Wynne (Westport, Conn.) will race in the prestigious Wanamaker Mile at the Millrose Games in New York on Feb. 11.
