GREENSBORO, N.C.-Virginia senior Zach Herriott and freshman Jordan Scott have been named the ACC’s Men’s Track and Field Performers of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday (Feb. 7).

Herriott (Kansas City, Mo.), the ACC Men’s Track Performer of the week, broke the UVA record in the 5,000 meters at the Scarlett & White Meet Saturday (Feb. 4) in Boston in a time of 13:45.37, which ranks second in the nation and first in the ACC by over nine seconds.

Scott (Portmore, Jamaica), the ACC Women’s Field Performer of the Week, won the triple jump at the Scarlett & White Meet with a leap of 16.36m (53′ 8.25″), which ranks second on UVA’s all-time list and is a program freshman record. His mark ranks fourth in the NCAA and first it the ACC by almost two feet.

It is the first career ACC weekly award for both Herriott and Scott.
