#StrikeOutCancer

On Saturday, the #UVASoftball team had a pair of special first pitches with both UVA and Florida State coming together for a worthy cause, #StrikeOutCancer Day. Savannah Corbin was one of two very special first pitches. Savannah was just two years old when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and endured eight blood transfusions and 20 lumbar punctures at the University of Virginia Emily Couric Cancer Center, finishing her last treatment in December of 2015. Also throwing out a first pitch was Delaney Foster, the sister of Taylor Foster, a Florida State softball fan and a softball player herself who passed away on April 27, 2014, after battling osteosarcoma.
