Look Hoos Talking

Former #UVABase standout Javier Lopez, who recently retired after a 14-year career in Major League Baseball, announced he will join the NBC Sports Bay Area’s Giants TV coverage. Lopez, a standout pitcher at UVA as well as with the Giants, will be a studio analyst this coming season.

In other @UVAbaseball alumni news, A’s closer Sean Doolittle will have a new look on the mound this season and will wear glasses for the first time. Doolittle, who played at UVA from 2005-07, is heading into his sixth season with the Oakland Athletics.

Brotherly Hoo Love
Former #UVAFB standout Chris Long signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday. Long was a member of the Superbowl champion New England Patriots last season and announced several weeks ago he would be playing for a new team this coming season. One of the first to welcome him to the City of Brotherly Love was former #UVAMBB standout and current Sixer Justin Anderson.
