Former #UVAMBB All-American Malcolm Brogdon is one of the leading candidates for the NBA Rookie of the Year award, but he has asked the Milwaukee Bucks to forego campaigning on his behalf and instead donate the funds allotted for the campaign to charity. Read more about it here, including the statement from the Bucks. There is also a grass roots Twitter campaign with the #ThePrez4ROY hashtag to drum up support for Brogdon.

Two alumni updates from this weekend. Former #UVAMTEN standout Dominic Inglot was competing in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup, playing a doubles rubber for Great Britain in the quarterfinals. The French edged the Brits, ending this year’s run by the 2015 Davis Cup Champions, but Inglot played a strong match, partnering with Jamie Murray.

Former #UVABASE standout Reed Gragnani has joined the staff of the Salem (Va.) Red Sox as an assistant coach. Gragnani, suited up for the Sox for parts of two seasons at second base, but a serious knee injury ultimately ended his playing career. WDBJ CBS 7 caught up with Gragnani at the park.
