CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No. 40 Virginia women’s tennis team (7-10, 5-5 ACC) continues to play on the road this weekend, beginning with a pair of matches Friday (April 14) as the Cavaliers face Duquesne and Pittsburgh.

Virginia plays Duquesne (13-7) at 10 a.m. before facing Pittsburgh (3-12, 0-11 ACC) at 4 p.m. Both matches will be played at the Alpha Tennis and Fitness Center – a facility shared for competition by both the Dukes and Panthers. Live stats will be available for the match against Pittsburgh and linked at VirginiaSports.com.

The Cavaliers have a pair of players ranked in the latest edition of the ITA women’s singles rankings, with Rosie Johanson (Abbotsford, British Columbia) at No. 48 and junior Cassie Mercer at No. 116. The doubles tandem of freshman Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and Mercer are the No. 37 doubles team in the latest ITA women’s doubles rankings.

Neither Duquesne nor Pittsburgh have a player ranked in singles or doubles.

Virginia will close the weekend on Sunday (April 16), continuing play on the road at Louisville. The Cavaliers and Cardinals will face off at 11 a.m.
