CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Hoos Choice Awards, celebrating the 2016-17 athletics year at Virginia, will be held Wednesday, May 3.
The annual awards event, which was formerly known as the UVA All-Sports Banquet, will be streamed live from John Paul Jones Arena on ACC Network Extra starting at 6:15 p.m. The event is not open to the public.
The Hoos Choice Awards feature individual and team honors, chosen from UVA’s 25 varsity sports. The event is dedicated to celebrating the more than 650 student-athletes at the University of Virginia.
Former women’s track and field star Jordan Lavender will serve as host for the Hoos Choice Awards. Lavender holds five school records, including the indoor 200 and 400 meter.
The Hoos Choice Awards are highlighted by the following honors:
– WINA Award for top male athlete
– IMP Award for top female athlete
– ACC Scholar Athletes
– Male Rookie of the Year
– Female Rookie of the Year
– Wahoowa Award
– Play of the Year
– Comeback of the Year
