2016 UVA grad Elizabeth Szokol was the runner-up at last weekend’s Four Winds Invitational on the Symetra Tour. Szokol, who held the lead after 36 holes, tied for second at 8-under 208. Only a final round 8-under 64 by Kendall Dye kept Szokol from claiming the victory. Through nine events this year, Szokol is 18th on the tour’s money list.

Derek Bard grew up just 90 miles from from Pittsford, N.Y., home of the Monroe Invitational, one of the nation’s oldest amateur events. In his third, and final time, playing the tournament, he walked away with its top prize. Bard shot 6-under 274 to better the 81-man field in his first win since graduating in May.
