Hoos an All-Star
Congratulations to former #UVABase standout Ryan Zimmerman who has been voted the National Laegue’s starting first baseman for the upcoming #MLB All-Star game. This will be the second All-Star appearance for Zimmerman, his first since 2009, and his first-ever start. Zimmerman is having a great season for the Nationals, batting .335 with 19 homers (his highest total since ’13) with 62 RBI.
Hoos in the Pros
Congratulations to former #UVAWBB guard Ariana Moorer who signed a contract to play in Greece for Hesperidea Kallithea. Moorer was the MVP of the Icelandic League where she played last season, averaging 17.6 points, 10.9 rebound, 5.8 assists and 3.2 steals per game.
