Players of the Week
A pair of #UVABase pitchers were lights-out last week in summer league play. Bobby Nicholson (above) was named the Pitcher of the Week in the New England Collegiate Baseball League after dazzling in his first start of the summer after working exclusively out of the bullpen in four previous outings. He fanned nine batters over five innings while issuing only two walks and two hits in an eventual 12-0 victory for the Keene Swap Bats.
Grant Donahue earned the same honor for the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. Donahue In two starts for the Elmira Pioneers last week, Donahue finished with an unblemished 0.00 ERA and a 2-0 record. He was one of just two pitchers in the PGCBL to earn a pair of wins while ranking second in strikeouts (11) over the course of the past seven days.

Congratulations to former #UVAFH goalie Rebecca (Holden) Thelen, who was sworn in last week as a Charlottesville police officer. The 2015-16 ACC Sportsmanship Award winner spent five seasons as a Cavalier, wrapping up her career last fall as a member of the 2016 ACC Championship squad.
