ATLANTA, Ga. – The Virginia men’s tennis team has five players competing at the Georgia Tech Invitational, being held Friday through Sunday, Nov. 3-5, at Georgia Tech’s Ken Byer’s Tennis Complex in Atlanta, Ga.

Both Cavalier doubles teams dropped a pair of matches on Friday. Freshmen Jefferson Dockter (Atlanta, Ga.) and Ethan Moszkowski (New York, N.Y.) fell to tandems from Georgia State and Virginia Tech while freshmen Jerome Romualdez (Manila, Philippines) and Matthew Lord (Bloomfield, Conn.) were topped by teams from Georgia Tech and South Carolina.

In singles action, Lord defeated Georgia Tech’s Michael Kay 6-4, 6-4. Dockter downed Auburn’s Alex Mascioli 6-4, 7-6 (0-4). Redshirt freshman Ammar Alhaqbani (Alexandria, Va.) fell 6-2, 7-5 to Virginia Tech’s Abraham Asaba. Romauldez fell 6-1, 6-1 to Georgia State’s Kevin Huynh.

Saturday will begin at 9 a.m. with two singles matches slated for the day. Sunday will begin at 9 a.m. with a doubles match followed by the final singles match for each player.
