COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Sophomore Jordan Scott (Portmore, Jamaica) finished 12th in the triple jump to conclude competition at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship on Saturday (March 10) at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium in College Station, Texas.

Scott recorded a mark of 15.84m (51’11.75″) to place 12th in the event, earning second-team All-America honors.

“Jordan competed well today but wasn’t 100 percent healthy, so it cost him when he needed it the most,” assistant coach Mario Wilson said. “This competition is more than a test of performance. Jordan was mentally prepared for the challenge, but his body let him down today.”

With tonight’s finish, Scott recorded the third All-America honor of his career. He earned second-team accolades at the 2017 NCAA Indoor Championships and honorable mention honors at the 2017 outdoor championships.

The Cavaliers finished the 2018 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships unranked in the team standings.

Scott and the Cavaliers will open the outdoor season at the Hurricane Invitational in Miami, Fla., March 16-17.
