Additional Information on Wahoowa Weekend

Charlottesville, Va. — The Virginia athletics department announced the inaugural Wahoowa Weekend today (April 10) that is scheduled for April 27-29. Wahoowa Weekend takes place in conjunction with the Cavalier football program’s final spring practice and features several home athletics events with special ticket pricing for the UVA baseball series versus Clemson.

Spring Football
The Virginia football team’s final spring practice will take place Saturday, April 28 at Scott Stadium at 2 p.m. The stadium’s East, West and North gates open at 12:30 p.m. for pre-game activities for fans on the concourse and field until 1:30 p.m. Following the football team’s practice, a 30-minute autograph session will take place on the field at approximately 4 p.m. Admission and parking are free.

Fans attending will have an opportunity to pick-up the 2018 Virginia football schedule poster and schedule cards. The UVA equipment staff will also hold its annual sale of used equipment, including football jerseys and helmets.

A UVA student tailgate will take place at Scott Stadium’s northeast concourse. Free pizza and Pepsi will be provided to the first 500 UVA students beginning at 12:30 p.m. as well as a voucher for a free Virginia Football t-shirt.

Baseball
The UVA baseball team will host a three-game series against Clemson during Wahoowa Weekend. The games are scheduled for 6 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 28 and 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 29. General admission tickets for the weekend are available now for $2.

The baseball series features Flashback Friday: 90s Night, Princess & Super Hero Day on Saturday. Sunday’s game features a trading card giveaway and fans can participate in a post-game autograph session and children are invited to run the bases at the same time.

Track & Field
The UVA track and field teams will host the Virginia Grand Prix on Saturday at Lannigan Field. Admission is free. The meet gets underway with field events at 11 a.m. and running events start at 3 p.m. Free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream will be available to all fans starting at 3 p.m. while supplies last.

ACC Men’s Lacrosse Championships
In addition to the Virginia home events scheduled as part of Wahoowa Weekend, the ACC men’s lacrosse championships will take place at Klöckner Stadium on Friday and Sunday. The semifinal matches are scheduled for 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Friday. Sunday’s championship final is set for noon. All-session tickets are available for purchase online at VirginiaSports.comVirginiaSports.com. Reserved seats for all three games of the tournament are $30, adult general admission tickets at $25 and youth general admission tickets are $20. Single-session tickets may be purchased for $15 (reserved), $10 (GA-adult) and $5 (GA-youth) at the ticket booth outside Klöckner Stadium. The championship bracket will be announced by the conference office on Saturday, April 21.
