Movin’ on Up

Congratulations to former #UVABase standout Matt Thaiss who has been promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake City. Thaiss played in 89 games for the BayBears over the past two seasons. Last year, he finished the season by posting a .292 average with 25 RBIs, 15 extra-base hits, and 37 walks in 49 games with Mobile. Thaiss started off 2018 with slashing .287/.352/.490 over 40 games and was tied for the team-lead with six home runs and 25 RBI. He was selected by the Angels in the first round (No. 16 overall) of the 2016 MLB Draft  and was named a MiLB.com Angels Organization All-Star in 2016 and 2017.
