MALIBU, Calif. – A pair of Virginia women’s tennis players closed play at the Riviera/ITA Women’s All-American Championships on Wednesday (Oct. 3) as junior Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) and senior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) concluded their stay in the qualifying rounds of the event.

Kelley posted an opening win over Pepperdine’s Evgeniya Levashova, who was seeded 12th in qualifying, to start competition. She defeated Levashova in a three-set battle, 2-6, 7-6 (8), 6-1.Kelley then dropped a three-set battle with Katarina Stesnakova of Oklahoma State in the second round. Stesnakova won 6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-3.
 
Gullickson, who competed in pre-qualifying in singles, paired with Kelley in doubles action for the qualifying rounds. The duo fell in the opening match to the third-seeded pairing of Elysia Bolton and Jada Hart from UCLA by a score of 8-3. The Cavalier duo then rebounded in the back draw with an 8-4 victory over the duo of Mimi Levine and OJ Singh from Penn.
