CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s head basketball coach Tony Bennett has announced the signings of guard Casey Morsell (Fort Washington, Md./St. John’s College High School) and forward Kadin Shedrick (Raleigh, N.C./Holly Springs High School) to National Letters of Intent with the Cavaliers.
 
“We are excited to welcome Casey and Kadin into the Virginia men’s basketball family,” Bennett said. “These young men are talented, competitive and have great character. Casey and Kadin understand the value of a degree from UVA and we are looking forward to them joining our program next fall.”
 
The 6-3, 190-pound Morsell averaged 14 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists for St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., in 2017-18. He earned All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference and All-District of Columbia Stats Athletic Association first-team honors after leading St. John’s to 22 wins. Morsell also participated in USA Basketball’s Junior National Team training camp this past summer. Morsell averaged 10.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists as a sophomore in 2016-17.
 
The 6-11, 200-pound Shedrick averaged 16.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists for Holly Springs High School in North Carolina. Shedrick, who earned team MVP honors, was named first-team all-conference and third-team all-district as a junior. Shedrick averaged 7.7 points and 7.7 rebounds as a sophomore in 2016-17.
