Hoo Debut

Congratulations to former #UVABase pitcher Branden Kline who made his MLB debut on Saturday. Kline came on in relief for the Baltimore Orioles in the sixth inning of game two of a double header against the Twins. Check out this great article that details the long journey (including six seasons in the Minors and three elbow surgeries) to the majors for Kline. Kline is the 40th Cavalier to play in the Big Leagues.

Hometown Love

Last week, we showed you the hometown love that #UVAMBB All-American Kyle Guy received from his high school. Two more hometowns were showing some pride last week as well, this time towards some of the unheralded, hard-working athletics department staff members. Assistant director of marketing Kevin Thurman got a shout-out from his high school alma mater while assistant athletics director for public relations Erich Bacher had an entire story devoted to him in his hometown newspaper.
