LONDON – Former Virginia men’s tennis players Dominic Inglot competed at the 2019 Championships at Wimbledon, which runs from July 1-14 at the All-England Lawn Tennis Club.

Inglot played in the Gentlemen’s Doubles draw, partnering with Austin Krajicek. Inglot and Krajicek have won one title together this season at the Libema Open in the Netherlands in mid-June. They also made a run to semifinals playing on the grass courts at Eastbourne the week before Wimbledon.

Krajicek is a 2011 graduate of Texas A&M University, winning the NCAA doubles title his senior season. Inglot, who graduated from Virginia in 2009, also won the NCAA doubles title as a senior.

Inglot and Krajicek faced Cam Norrie and Jaume Munar in the opening round. Norrie played collegiate tennis at TCU, reaching a No. 1 ITA singles ranking in his junior season of 2017 before foregoing his senior season to turn pro.

Inglot and Krajicek were edged by Norrie and Munar, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 6-7 (11), 6-3, in a marathon five-setter that lasted 3:15.

This was Inglot’s ninth-consecutive appearance at Wimbledon. His best-ever finish was a trip to the semifinals last year.

This was Inglot’s 29th time competing in a Grand Slam event and the 41st-consecutive Grand Slam in which a Cavalier has appeared.
