Oracle ITA National Fall Championships Website | Singles Draw

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  Virginia men’s tennis sophomore Ryan Goetz (Greenlawn, N.Y.) will be competing this week (Nov. 6-10) at the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, being held at the Newport Beach Tennis Club in Newport Beach, Calif.

Goetz competed in the men’s singles draw, which features 64 of the nation’s top collegiate singles players. In its third year, having replaced the ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships, it is the lone event on the collegiate tennis calendar to feature competitors from all five divisions playing in the same tournament. He fell 6-3, 6-3 to the No. 11 seed, Christian Sigsgaard of Texas, in the opening round. Goetz advanced to the Round of 32 in the consolation bracket after topping Tim Dollman of Auburn, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

Goetz earned his spot in the singles draw by winning the ITA Atlantic Regional two weeks ago in Charlottesville. This is his second-straight year playing in the tournament after qualifying last year via a runner-up finish at the Atlantic Regional.
