ATLANTA – Georgia Tech (18-10, 3-2 ACC) scored four of its six runs with two outs to clinch the series with a 6-3 win over Virginia (13-11, 3-2 ACC) on Saturday (March 16) at Mewborn Field.

While the Yellow Jackets found the clutch hits throughout the day, Virginia stranded five runners in scoring position. Lacy Smith (Lancaster, Pa.) finished 2-for-3 at the plate, including launching her 10th home run of the season, to lead the Cavaliers.

KEY INNING
The Yellow Jackets jumped out to the early lead and set the tone in the first inning, scoring a pair of runs with two outs. A walk and double put two in scoring position with one out, but Aly Rayle (Herndon, Va.) induced a pop-up for the second out. Skye Webb scored the pair, as her fly ball to left just eluded the outstretched glove of Tori Gilbert (Mechanicsville, Va.).
