CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –For the second time this season the No. 27 Virginia women’s tennis team (14-5, 6-4) posted a shutout in conference play, taking a 7-0 victory over No. 33 Georgia Tech (9-9, 6-5 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Snyder Tennis Center.

The Cavaliers picked up the doubles point with a come-from-behind win on court one before sweeping through the singles matches to complete the shutout. The win over the Yellow Jackets was the first since the 2015 season.
 
Virginia got four straight-set victories in singles, combining with three-set wins on courts two as the Cavaliers recorded the shutout.
 
The teams split the first two matches in doubles with Virginia taking a 6-2 win on court two from the tandem of sophomore Vivian Glozman (Bellevue, Wash.) and freshman Sofia Munera (Pereira, Colombia), while Georgia Tech took a 7-5 win on court three. The Cavaliers clinched the doubles point on court one as the duo of Hunter Bleser (New Braunfels, Texas) and senior Meghan Kelley (Falmouth, Maine) rallied to claim three straight games on the way to a 7-5 win.

Junior Camille Favero (Sacramento, Calif.) got things started for the Cavaliers in singles play, working quickly at six singles to take a 6-4, 6-1 win over Georgia Tech’s Nadia Gizdova.
 
Kelley, the No. 39 player nationally in singles, followed it up at the top of the lineup as she posted a 6-2, 6-4 win over No. 12 Kenya Jones. It was followed by a 6-4, 6-3 win from No. 68 Amber O’Dell (New Milford, N.J) on court three to clinch the win.

Glozman, who split the first two sets with Nami Otsuka on court two, won a super tiebreak in the third to push Virginia out to the five-point lead in the overall score. Glozman won 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (6).
 
Junior Chloe Gullickson (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), the No. 108 player in singles, extended the lead with her 6-4, 7-5 victory on court four over Victoria Flores, before Munera would close out the match with her come-from-behind win on court five. Munera defeated Gia Cohen 3-6, 6-3, 6-3. Munera played a full third set as she and Cohen had started their third set before O’Dell clinched the win.
 
Virginia will continue to play at home next weekend, hosting Notre Dame and Louisville in a pair of matches as a part of Alumni Weekend and senior recognition. The Cavaliers and Irish will play at 4 p.m. on Friday (April 5) before Virginia squares off with the Cardinals at 11 a.m. on Sunday (April 7).
