Virginia Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Team Honors
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America’s (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team on Wednesday (Jan. 29) for the program’s academic performance during the 2019 fall semester.
The Virginia men’s swimming and diving team recorded a 3.20 GPA for the fall semester, while the women’s team captured a combined GPA of 3.40.
The CSCAA recognized 762 programs from 480 institutions to the Scholar All-America Team for the fall of 2019. Virginia is one of 10 ACC schools to have both its men’s and women’s team named to the CSCAA Scholar All-America team.
In order to earn Scholar All-America Team honors, programs were required to post a grade point average of 3.0 or higher for the fall semester.
The Cavaliers will travel to the ACC Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C., for their next competition. The women will open competition on Feb. 19 while the men’s conference meet will begin on Feb. 26.
