The No. 4 Virginia men’s tennis team (10-2, 4-0 ACC) hosts Florida State (5-5, 0-2 ACC) this afternoon at 2:30 at the Virginia Tennis Facility outdoor courts at  Boar’s Head Resort.

Due to health and safety considerations, in addition to the current guidelines for sports venues set by the Commonwealth of Virginia, attendance for UVA home men’s and women’s tennis competitions will be limited to the family of student-athletes and coaching staff until further notice

STORYLINES


  • Virginia remains at No. 4 in this week’s ITA team rankings after beginning the season ranked No. 22. Individual singles and doubles rankings have not been updated since the preseason
  • The Cavaliers christened the new courts of the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort with a 7-0 sweep of No. 39 Miami on Friday
  • This will be the second match played on the new courts
  • Florida State is receiving votes in this week’s ITA Team Rankings
  • This is the first match of the weekend for the Seminoles who continue on to Blacksburg to play at Virginia Tech tomorrow
  • Virginia is 30-11 all-time against the Seminoles, but the teams have split the last two meetings. Virginia won 4-1 in 2019 in Tallahassee while FSU, ranked No. 9 at the time, won 5-2 in 2018 in Charlottesville. They did not play in 2020
