CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s tennis freshman Iñaki Montes (Pamplona, Spain) has been named the ACC Men’s Tennis Singles Co-Player of the Week while he and freshman Jeffrey von der Schulenburg (Zurich, Switzerland) were named the ACC Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week in honors announced Tuesday (April 6) by the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Montes had the most dominant singles victory in UVA’s 6-1 win against Virginia Tech, defeating Hugo Maia 6-1, 6-2 on court four.

In doubles, Montes and von der Schulenburg defeated Ryan Kros and Carlo Donato by a 6-2 score on court three. The duo are 8-0 in ACC doubles matches and are on a 10-match win streak.

Montes is the fourth different Cavalier to be named the ACC Men’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week. This is Montes and von der Schulenburg’s second ACC doubles accolade and the fifth time this season that a doubles team has earned the honor.
