CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia men’s tennis rising sophomore Chris Rodesch competed in Davis Cup Europe Group III ties as part of the team from his native Luxembourg last month in Larnaca, Cyprus.

Cyprus, Georgia, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta and Monaco faced off June 16-19 on the hard courts of the Herodotou Tennis Academy. Cyprus, Monaco and Ireland advanced from Europe Group III to contest the 2022 World Group II Play-offs. Luxembourg defeated Iceland 2-0 in the relegation playoff to retain their position in Group III.

Rodesch went 4-0 in his ties, including winning in straight-sets against Iceland’s Anton Magnusson in the relegation playoff.

This is Rodesch’s second time playing in Davis Cup ties for Luxembourg with a 5-2 overall singles record.
