GREENSBORO, N.C. – Virginia had four swimmers that advanced to the 2021 Toyota US Open finals on Thursday night at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Jan Karolczak finished sixth in the C Final of the 400-meter freestyle with a time of 4:11.04 after swimming a 4:05.49 in the prelims.

Noah Nichols swam to a third-place finish in the C Final of the 200-meter individual medley with a time of 2:07.03, improving on his prelims time of 2:08.95.

In the 50-meter freestyle, August Lamb and Jack Aikins advanced to the B Final on Thursday. Lamb finished fourth with a time of 23.06 and Aikins was seventh in 23.21.

Virginia alum Leah Smith wont he 200-meter medley in 2:11.67.

Friday’s events will feature the 400-meter medley, 100-meter butterfly, 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter backstroke.
