CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The Virginia men’s and women’s track and field program is set to host its final meet of the regular season as the Cavaliers compete in the Virginia High-Performance meet at Lannigan Field on Wednesday, May 3.

The meet will begin with the field events starting with the hammer throw at 1 p.m. The running events will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the 100m hurdles. The competition will close with a women’s 1500m at 7:45 p.m. followed by a men’s mile at 7:50 p.m.

HOO TO WATCH:

Some of Virginia’s top athletes will be on display at the final meet at Lannigan Field this season including Claudio Romero who comes off a historic weekend after recording the fifth-best throw in the world this season at the Penn Relays.

More of Virginia’s top-throwers will also compete in the field events. On the women’s side, Ashley Anumba comes off a weekend in which she set a Virginia record in route to a discus win at the Penn Relays.

Two of Virginia’s top middle-distance runners will also compete as Wes Porter and Conor Murphy who rank fourth and 11th respectively in the 1500m in the ACC, will feature for the Cavaliers.

The Cavaliers will travel to Durham to compete in the ACC Outdoor Championships from Thursday (May 12) through Saturday (May 14).
