Jeffrey von der Schulenburg Wins First Career ITF Doubles Title
BERN, Switzerland – Jeffrey von der Schulenburg won the doubles title at the linkyard Bern Open, an ITF World Tennis Tour 15k clay court tournament that was held in Switzerland.
It was the first ITF WTT title of von der Schulenburg’s career.
Von der Schulenburg partnered with TCU ‘s Juan Carlos Aguilar in the tournament. The duo edged Mirko Martinez and Luca Staeheli 6-4, 7-5 in the final.
Von der Schulenburg also advanced to the Round of 16 in singles before falling to Martinez 6-2, 3-6, 6-2. Martinez was the No. 5 seed in the singles draw. Von der Schulenburg reached the quarterfinals in singles and the Round of 16 in doubles the previous week in a 25K tournament in Klosters, Switzerland.
Von der Schulenburg is the third Cavalier to win an ITF tournament this summer with Chris Rodesch winning a doubles title in Belgium and Iñaki Montes winning both the singles and doubles titles in Mungia, Spain.
