CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. –  The No.13 Virginia men’s tennis team (10-4, 2-0 ACC) hits the road for a pair of conference matches this weekend, playing at Louisville (9-4, 0-2 ACC) on Friday, March 10 at 4 p.m., and at Notre Dame (9-6, 0-2 ACC) on Sunday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m.

NOTING THE CAVALIERS

  • Virginia rose eight spots in the ITA computerized team rankings this week to No. 13
  • Virginia opened conference play last weekend with a pair of 4-0 victories against Miami and No. 15 Florida State
  • Chris Rodesch was named the ACC Men’s Tennis Singles Player of the Week this week after a pair of ranked wins against No. 28 Chris Martin of Miami and No. 2 Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc of Florida State
  • Rodesch moved up to No. 25 in the ITA Singles rankings. Jeffrey von der Schulenburg is No. 32 and Iñaki Montes is No. 37
  • Ryan Goetz and von der Schulenburg are both 9-2 in dual matches this season. Rodesch is 8-2 with a 6-0 mark at No. 1
  • Virginia has won 28 straight matches in ACC play and 35 straight matches against ACC opponents. UVA’s last loss against an ACC team was a 4-2 loss against North Carolina during the 2021 ITA National Team Indoor Championship. UVA’s last conference loss was a pre-pandemic 4-3 loss at Louisville on Jan. 18, 2020
