CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia will travel to Florida in the second SEC/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Times and television designations for the Challenge are to be determined. The games will be featured on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ACC Network and SEC Network.

All 16 SEC teams and 16 of the 18 ACC teams will participate in the 2024 Challenge. Stanford and SMU will not play in the 2024 event.

Virginia meets Florida for the fifth time. The Cavaliers are 2-2 all-time against the Gators in a series that dates to 1992. UVA topped Florida 73-70 in a Hall Fame Series contest last season in Charlotte, N.C. The Gators posted wins against the Cavaliers in the 2017 and 2012 NCAA tournaments, respectively. UVA posted its other win in the series with a 62-56 win over Florida in the 1992 NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden.

UVA knocked of Texas A&M 59-47 in the inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge last season. The ACC and SEC each won seven games in the first Challenge.

In 2023-24, the Cavaliers went 23-11 and finished third in the ACC with a 13-7 record. UVA earned its 26th NCAA Tournament berth and 12th consecutive postseason berth.
