Virginia Athletics recognizes there are many unknowns surrounding the 2021 softball season. This page will serve as a resource to fans and will be continually updated with the most current information available.

Capacity

What are the current capacity guidelines at Palmer Park?
Due to current capacity guidelines as established by the Commonwealth of Virginia, attendance at Palmer Park will be limited to the family of student-athletes and coaching staff until further notice. In addition, based on the current guidelines, season tickets will not be issued for the 2021 softball season.

Should the Commonwealth of Virginia adjust the protocols for spectator attendance, the UVA athletics department will announce new capacity guidelines and other protocols to attend events.

When will capacity decisions be made and how will those be communicated?
If capacity guidelines established by state, local and university officials enable fans to attend future games, Virginia Athletics will communicate the change to past softball season ticket holders via email and to the public through a press release to media outlets. Information will also be posted to VirginiaSports.com and to the social media accounts of Virginia Softball and Virginia Athletics.

Season Ticket Holders

What do these changes mean for season tickets?
Season tickets will not be sold or distributed for the 2021 softball season.

Gameday At Palmer Park

What changes will COVID-19 have on attending games at Palmer Park?
Virginia Athletics will communicate game day information to fans once attendance is permitted.

Will masks be required?
Yes, per University guidelines, masks will be required to be worn at all times inside Palmer Park.

Student Ticketing

How will UVA student attendance be handled if tickets are available?
Based on the current capacity guidelines for sports venues provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia, no student tickets will be available for home softball games. Should the guidelines change and student tickets are made available, students will place requests for tickets using their student ticketing account at UVASHOTS.com.

Students who have registered their student ticketing account will be emailed with further information if ticket opportunities become available. Students who do not have an account should register to ensure they will receive notification of ticket opportunities this season.

Away Games

Will away game tickets still be available for sale?
Virginia Athletics does not sell tickets to regular season away games. Fans are asked to contact the host institution to inquire about availability.

Fan Cutouts

Will UVA allow fan cutouts similar to other university and professional sports teams?
To provide funding for operational support for the Virginia Softball program, Hoos In The Crowd Fan Cutouts are available to be purchased and placed in seats that will not be occupied. Fan cutouts are $75 each.

Fans who purchase cutouts will have the opportunity to pick them up at the conclusion of the season. Fans may also choose to have the cutout shipped to them at the end of the season by selecting the cutout shipping option. In addition, 10 cutouts will be randomly selected to be autographed by head coach Brian O’Connor or Joanna Hardin.

4TheHoos

What are 4TheHoos tickets?
To provide funding for operational support for Virginia Athletics, 4TheHoos Virtual Tickets are on sale for $25 each. 4TheHoos ticket revenue provides resources to fund student-athlete support services, such as academic services, sport medicine, sports nutrition and strength and conditioning.
