ORLANDO, Fla. – Virginia’s all-time leading scorer Angela Hucles (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) scored off a cross from freshman Laura Gaworecki (Houston, Tex/Cypress Creek) halfway through the first period to help the second-seeded Cavaliers defeat the seventh-seeded Florida State Seminoles 2-0 tonight in Orlando, Florida. It was the second triumph over the Seminoles this year in Florida for the Cavaliers, who also defeated Florida State 4-3 in overtime in Tallahassee during the regular season. With the win, the Cavaliers (13-5-2), ranked 13th nationally, advance to the semifinals against the winner of the Clemson/N.C. State matchup which will take place later tonight.

Virginia freshman Darci Borski (Philadelphia, Pa./Nazareth Academy), who scored the game-winner in the first Virginia-Florida State game, added an insurance goal 17 minutes into the second period as she stuck back a rebound to put Virginia up 2-0.
