Angela Hucles Named ACC Player of the Week

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia junior Angela Hucles (Virginia Beach, VA/Norfolk Academy), a second-team preseason All-American and a preseason Hermann Trophy finalist, was named the first ACC Womens Soccer Player of the Week for her efforts in leading Virginia to two wins last week. The Cavalier captain tallied the game-winning goal in the 5-4 win over George Washington and scored twice against James Madison in the Cavaliers’ 3-2 victory. Her first goal against James Madison, which came 38:50 into the game, tied the contest and gave Hucles the record. She now has 38 for her career, ahead of Andrea Rubio, who tallied 36 from 1989 to 1992.
