BOISE, Id. – University of Virginia track and field member Angela Lee (Somerset, N.J./Franklin) represented the UVa track and field team as she competed on the first day of the 1999 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Boise, Idaho. Lee, who was making her fourth consecutive NCAA Championship appearance, competed in the women’s 400 meter hurdle semi-finals. She finished sixth in the second heat of the preliminary run with a time of 1:00.37. Lee’s time placed her 17th overall out of the 20 competitors in the event. The 400 meter hurdle finals will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 4.

The NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships will continue through Saturday, June 5. The meet is hosted by Boise State University and the track and field events are being held at Bronco Stadium. Lee is joined by Virginia teammates Ann Crouse (Old Mystic, Conn./Stonington) and Ray Weeden (Cleveland, Ohio/St. Ignatius) in the NCAA Championships. Weeden will compete in the men’s 1,500 meter run semi-finals on Thursday, June 3 at 5:55 p.m. and Crouse will participate in the women’s javelin finals slated for Friday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. If Weeden advance into the finals of the 1,500 meter run, he will compete on Saturday, June 5 at 7:45 p.m.
