CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia cross country runner Bob Thiele Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) was named the ACC Men’s Performer of the Week. Thiele, a second-year at UVa, finished fourth overall (first for UVa) with a time of 24:36.80 in the 1998 IC4A Meet held at Van Courtlandt Park, NYC. He helped the Cavaliers record a fourth place finish (tied with Mt. St. Mary’s) out of the 14 team field in the five mile event.

Thiele’s time was a one minute improvement over his mark from last year at the IC4A Meet. He claims the ACC Performer of the Week award for the second time this season. Thiele was also honored on September 14 after finishing second overall (first for Virginia) in the Lou Onesty Invitational at Darden Towe Park.

Trish Nerro from North Carolina earned the ACC Women’s Performer of the Week after finishing third in the Auburn Invitational with a time of 17:10.17. Her performance helped UNC take second overall in the meet.
