Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia Cavaliers (13-6-2) will host a second round matchup in the 1998 NCAA women’s soccer tournament bracket as announced tonight by Amy Hackett, the chair of the Division I Soccer committee. The Cavaliers will host the winner of the Wake Forest – Georgia game, which will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 10.
The Cavaliers were ranked 13th in the final NSCAA Coaches’ Poll and advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, where they lost to Clemson 2-1.
In the 1997 NCAA Tournament, Virginia defeated James Madison 3-1 before losing to William & Mary 1-0.
2nd round: Winner of Wake Forest/Georgia
3rd round: Winner of #8 Dartmouth and (Central Florida at Wisconsin)
Quarterfinals: North Carolina hosts winner of South Carolina/UNC Charlotte; William & Mary hosts winner of Fairfield/Maryland
