PHILADELPHIA – The Cavaliers fell to top-ranked Old Dominion today in the NCAA Semifinals inPhiladelphia, Pa. Old Dominion scored three times in the first half to take the early lead, including a goal off a corner play just 1:41 into the contest.

ODU’s Kim Miller scored the next goal halfway through the period on a great individual effort, and Marina DiGiacomo scored the final goal just beforehalftime to give the Monarchs a 3-0 lead at the break. The Cavalier defense stiffened at that point and did not allow the Monarchs another goal. Virginia ends its season 18-5, finishing in the NCAA Semifinals for the second consecutive year.
