CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – University of Virginia volleyball player Jessica Parsons (Green Oaks, Ill./Libertyville) was named to the 1998 Atlantic Coast Conference All-Tournament team.

Parsons, a third-year middle hitter for UVa, paced Virginia to a 3-2 victory over Maryland (11-15, 15-8, 15-6, 6-15, 15-7) in the quarter-final round of the ACC Championship before the Cavaliers fell to Florida State 3-0 (15-10, 15-12, 15-9) in the semi-finals. She recorded 39 kills, 18 digs, nine blocks, two service aces and one assists in UVas two matches. Parsons was the only Cavaliers that was named to the team. She was joined on the team by Alison Coday from Clemson, Tory Siebert and Erin Berg from North Carolina, and Susan Hawks and Holly Schneider from Florida State. FSUs Fiona Bolten was named the ACC Championship Most Valuable Player as she led the number three seed Seminoles to a 3-0 win over number one seed North Carolina for the conference championship title.
