Men's Lacrosse Duo Selected as All Stars

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Two University of Virginia men’s lacrosse players have been picked for the annual USILA North-South Senior All Star Classic South Division I team. The game is slated for Saturday afternoon, June 12, 4:00 PM, at Skidmore College stadium in Saratoga Springs, NY. This is the 58th annual renewal of the series.

Midfielder Henry Oakey (6-0, 180, Deerfield School and Charlottesville), is one choice. He scored 14+5=19 in 1999 and posted career figures of 51+21=72. He scored two goals in the 1999 NCAA Championship game, which the Cavaliers won 12-10 over Syracuse last week.

Defenseman and captain Doug Davies (6-0, 190, Episcopal(PA) and St. David’s, PA), is the other choice. Despite suffering severe ankle injuries this year, he recovered in time to lead the UVa defense to a national title for the the first time since 1972.

The 1999 Cavaliers finished the season 13-3 , winning the NCAA title.
