CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – After battling to a 3-3 tie through 10innings here Friday, the University of Virginia and No. 7 Georgia Tech willresume play in the series opener at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Cavaliers, 12-18overall and 3-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference action, and the YellowJackets, 23-6 and 5-1, will then play the regularly scheduled second gameof the series 30 minutes following the conclusion of the suspended game.

Robbie Marvin drew a bases-loaded walk with one out in the bottomof eighth inning to knot the score at 3-3. Tech had put single runs on theboard in each the sixth and seventh innings to take a 3-2 lead.

Neither starting pitcher will figure in the decision. UVa starterJon Metzger (0-0) will get his fourth no decision in as many starts afterallowing three runs on eight hits with five walks and eight strike outs insix innings of work. Preseason All-America Southpaw Chuck Crowder lastedseven innings for the nine from Atlanta, allowing two runs on eight hitswith a walk and five strike outs.
