Virginia Divers Complete Competition at NCAA Regional

BATON ROUGE, La. – University of Virginia diver Courtney Colbert (So. Brown Deer, Wisc.) finished 30th and the Cavaliers’ Ashley Smith (So., Charlottesville, Va.) was 38th in the women’s one-meter diving competition on Saturday (March 13) at the NCAA Division I Zone B Diving Regionals at Louisiana State University.
Neither Virginia diver advanced to the finals of the competition. Colbert had a score of 166.75 in the preliminary competition and Smith had a score of 155.00.
Michelle Davison of the University of South Carolina won the one-meter diving competition. Janel Benda of the University of Miami was second and Miami’s Jenny Keim was third.
South Carolina’s Davison also won the three-meter diving competition on Friday (March 12). Virginia’s Colbert was 25th in that competition and the Cavaliers’ Smith was 43rd.
Neither Virginia diver advanced to the finals of the three-meter competition. Colbert had a score of 224.70 in the preliminary competition and Smith had a score of 139.25.
