Women's Soccer Hosts Georgia in NCAA Second Round

Charlottesville, Va. – The Virginia Cavaliers (13-6-2) will host a second round matchup in the 1998 NCAA women’s soccer tournament against the Georgia Bulldogs on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 2:00 pm in Klockner Stadium. Georgia advanced to the second round with a 5-2 defeat of Wake Forest tonight in Athens.

The Cavaliers were ranked 13th in the final NSCAA Coaches’ Poll and advanced to the semifinals of the ACC Tournament, where they lost to Clemson 2-1.

In the 1997 NCAA Tournament, Virginia defeated James Madison 3-1 before losing to William & Mary 1-0.

2nd round: Georgia
3rd round: Winner of #8 Dartmouth and (Central Florida at Wisconsin)
Quarterfinals: North Carolina hosts winner of South Carolina/UNC Charlotte; William & Mary hosts winner of Fairfield/Maryland
