CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Dawn Staley (Virginia/Charlotte Sting) and the U.S. Senior National Team will play an exhibition game against the University of Virginia on Friday, Nov. 12 in University Hall in Charlottesville. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The U.S. National Team is on a 12-game NCAA Division I tour in preparation for the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

In addition to Staley, other members of the USA squad include Lisa Leslie (Southern California/Los Angeles Sparks), Chamique Holdsclaw (Tennessee/Washington Mystics), Ruthie Bolton-Holified (Auburn/Sacramento Monarchs), Yolanda Griffith (Florida Atlantic/Sacramento Monarchs), Nikki McCray (Tennessee/Washington Mystics), DeLisha Milton (Florida/Los Angeles Sparks), Katie Smith (Ohio State/Minnesota Lynx), Natalie Williams (UCLA/Utah Starzz) and Kara Wolters (Connecticut/Houston Comets) and four-time Olympian Teresa Edwards (Georgia). The team is coached by Nell Fortner.

The game will be the first of two exhibition games for the Cavaliers. Virginia meets the Russian National Team on Nov. 16 before beginning the regular season Nov. 21 vs. St. Joseph’s at home.

Tickets for the game are $5 for adults and $3 for youth/seniors and are available from the UVa Athletic Ticket Office (1-800-542-UVA1 ).
