Three Women's Soccer Players Receive Honors

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Virginia Cavaliers Katie Tracy (Richmond,VA/James River) was named to the All-State First team by the VirginiaSports Information Directors Association while teammates Angela Hucles(Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Academy) and Tammy Westinghouse (Seattle,Wash./Lakeside) were both named to the second team.
Virginia junior Katie Tracy was named the ACC Player of the Week onSeptember 19 and a two-time member of the Soccer America Team of the Week.Tracy’s eight assists led the Cavaliers in 1999, including fourgame-winning assists. Her 14 points ranked third on the team. Tracy wasnamed to the All-Regional team in 1999 for the second time in her career.
Virginia co-captain Angela Hucles is a four-time All-State andAll-ACC performer. Hucles was the leading scorer for the Cavalier team in1999 with 29 points for the season and led the team with 11 goals. She alsoholds the all-time Virginia record for points scored with 138 points and atotal of 59 goals. Throughout her four years at Virginia she has also had19 game winning goals, marking another Virginia record, and 6 game winningassists. During 1999 Hucles was named to Soccer America’s Team of the Weektwice and was named an ACC Player of the Week once.
Westinghouse led the Cavaliers with 1956 minutes or 95% of theminutes played by the team. She was named to the All-ACC Second team in1998. This is her first appearance on the All-State team.
The Cavaliers concluded their season with a 3-2 triple overtimeloss to the Hartford Hawks in the third round of the 1999 College Cup.
