CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The University of Virginia women’s and men’sswimming and diving teams both climbed one spot in the College SwimmingCoaches Association of America (CSCAA) Top 25 Poll released on January 20.The women are ranked a program-best seventh, while the men are ninth in thelatest addition of the CSCAA Polls.

The Virginia women are currently 6-0 overall and 4-0 in the ACC in the1999-2000 season and have won 18-consecutive dual meets dating back to the1997-98 season. UVa had been ranked eighth in the previous two women’spolls before taking the seventh spot in the current ratings.

The Cavalier men are 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the ACC this season. The menhold the ninth spot in their CSCAA poll, one place shy of the program’sbest ranking. The Cavaliers were ranked 10th in the January 6 poll afterearning a program-best ranking of eighth in the December 9 poll.

The Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams return to actionon Saturday, January 30, when they host Villanova at 1:00 p.m. at the UVaAquatic and Fitness Center.
