WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech finished the Virginia Commonwealth East Regional Fall Preview on October 23-24 with a two-round score of 287-290-577 to record a six-stroke victory at the Ford’s Colony Marsh Hawk 6,715-yard, par-72 course. The College of Charleston (296-287-583) finished second, followed by VCU (295-292-587) and Furman (290-297-587). The University of Virginia finished tied for 13th with a two-round score of 302-301-603.

Brendon De Jonge of Virginia Tech (70-72-142) won the individual competition after a playoff with Travis Mobley of Georgia Tech (75-67-142). Junior Steve Marino (Fairfax, Va., 70-77-147) tied for 20th and was the top finisher for the Cavaliers. Senior Cameron Yancey (Blackstone, Va., 77-72-149) tied for 31st at the tournament.

Also competing in the tournament for Virginia were junior Shivin Kwatra (New Delhi, India, 78-76-154), sophomore Justin Goodhue (Glastonbury, Conn., 77-79-156), and freshman Rusty Kennedy (Phoenix, Ariz., 82-76-158).
